I'm looking at the LG OLED65B7 at Costco. I use a 2.0 audio system from older components and I would like to keep the system.

I would like to use the optical digital out of the tv to a Schitt modi dac to output 2 channel audio. Can you set the tv optical out to 2 channel pcm? I was looking through the manual an it is not detailed enough.

I am open to other solutions to get 2.0 audio out of the tv.

Thanks

It has optical out. If you can set it to PCM, I'm not sure. I understand the frustration... ran into it myself.

I found this, but I don't know if it is working correctly as advertised:
http://www.lg.com/hk_en/support/product-help/CT20136005-1437129397190-others

And yours is the latest and newest B7 you are inquiring about.

And related to the C7/B7 Series:

"Wait its optical out broken? i dont notice any problem with my LG soundbar, always sending PCM stereo to the 2.1 soundbar."

"Yes optical is broken with Auto setting on TV. IF you send PCM it's fine. But then you get all channel stereo it seems. With Auto the center channel on my soundbar is for voices as it should be. But then it's out of sync."

I have ordered the LG and an Oppo 205. The Oppo can take audio from the hdmi via ARC. The toslink digital input can accept a few different formats as well. I should be set with either of these two options. I will start with hdmi ARC as this is the cleanest extraction of digital audio.
