Any Laufer Teknik Memory Player 64 out there? Looking for owners experience as a player.

Matt from Audiogon has just ordered a 32 core MP64-32 Memory Player ($55k retail) server and will be comparing it to Aurender N10 and SGM.

Nice link. Would like to see what he thinks of N10. My max budget for a server can be N10 or Lampi SK depending which wins in a shootout and which is available at a bargain. Else I would like to go even lower in price, but don't like Auralic at all.

I just wonder, what kind of hardware a $49k server might have? And what is the difference between MP-46-8 for $19,550 and MP-46-32 for $48,950?

Reading what I can from the end backwards on that audiogon thread his favorites still seems to be the N10 with some shootouts to come.

That is correct, Matt preferred N10 in his system due to a more organic presentation. Have a look at the Antipodes thread above. I posted there a link to the recent Antipodes DX Gen2 review, where the guy preferred Antipodes to the Aurender. As always, the choice depends on a system and a personal preference

Hmm, based on what I heard recently...It took a great leap forward since about 2 months ago with the 7 bespoke LPSU, the new Linux and tubed Spdif.
Enjoy anyways, life is too short to 2nd guess every decision.

I have 2 good friends with very high standards for their audio systems (and the ability to basically have what they want) who have owned various MP's since 2011-2012. They have both upgraded to the current and the newly announced MP max-ed out platform. From listening to their systems which are high-end across the board, that the MP platform is an amazing sounding music server/streamer.

From what I have seen, there is alot of info on the website but you should also reach out to Laufner directly as he may share more (but unsure as I am not one of his customers).

Having built quite a few servers, I cannot even imagine how can you spend more than $5000 building one (including stuff like battery PSUs for SSDs), not to mention $50k.

It's a Dac and Server in one. The big thing are the hardware and software proprietary tech. Like Read until right, de-fractionalization of the SSDs, embedded jitter removal with the patented process that removes the wasted zeros in digital samples, memory playback, etc.

It is not clear from their site - as far I could see it can be used to digitize our vinyl collections and then (quoting their site) "Many now consider The Memory Player 64 to surpass even the finest analog systems. Many have sold their vinyl collections after digitizing their collections with The Memory Player."

I would not mind knowing a little more about its hardware.

This is ideal for ddk, he can digitize all his vinyl with each of his turntables and then sell all of them off, he will make a lot of money. Jack can also do similar with his AF0, lamm and EMT phono. All of a sudden memory player looks like a much lower cost solution
