Hi all

I read a poll in which tube phono stages were preferred over solid state.

I have always flirted with the idea of a Tube set up, however, I recall having a chat with a very good SS phono stage designer who advocated SS over tubes due to the issue of Microphony and feedback in to the audio chain which is the achilles heal of Tubes.

By way of discussion:
1. Do others concur with that view and if so what is their experience?
2. If they disagree - again what is their experience? can the problem be ameliorated?
3. Is it simply a case of putting up with the compromise and just enjoying things for what they are?

Thanks

Lohan
