I have a Tascam br-20 that has almost new stock heads, (53783018) but I also have a spare set of brand new heads from a Tascam 42B (53783023) both heads are Rec/Play type so my question is of the two, which one is better sounding or are they equal, I notice that the BR-20T uses the 42B type head, (53783023) and would it be worth swapping for better quality recording & playback.

Dear sir,
I also have BR20 and upgraded the play/rec head to DIN version (53783020). Better sound than regular head , larger contact area than normal head . Quite high price (29000 Yen each). I order from here : http://openreel.net/parts_2.html

Good afternoon Panreels,
I have a 42B and actually had to replace the playback head on my deck because the output was so low I could barely hear my newly purchased 15ips tapes. Not only that, what sound I could hear indicated very poor fidelity.
