In my first post to this forum eleven months ago, I offered to share the reason ATAE doesn't market our professional tape playback systems to the audiophile community. That reason (of course) is because audiophiles do not own original master tapes.

Except for when they do. (But honestly, this is pretty uncommon.)

Yet, friends here and elsewhere have persistently urged that we work to offer something at a lower cost for serious audiophiles.

So I've come up with a product priced well below the $90,000 cost of our Model Two or Classic A80.

We're calling it the Classic RC reproducer. If you don't know, reproducer is the industry's long-ago given name for an analog audio magnetic tape machine designed and optimized for playback only. The new ATAE product is named the Classic RC because it's based on the famous Studer A80RC.

First, the A80 transport is carefully re-conditioned by us. But unlike what we do with the Model Two, we are re-using the RC's original, stock transport control electronics and furniture.

Yet the new Classic RC will come with our outboard PSU, the A80 PowerBase and our new Classic 986 2-channel tape playback amplifier. Both of these professional-grade, 24-inch rack-mount ATAE components fit neatly into a rack frame we add into the base of a modified original Studer RC console. $55,000 complete with one ATAE SHRO headblock. (Or $45,000 with your unmolested A80 trade-in. Ask for the fine print details.)

50% deposit required with order. We will build only three of these limited-production machines.
