What ever happened to the Greek Audiophile Society? Anyone remember the movie?

Fabulous movie about 10 years ago:

I hope the Greek Audiophile Society is still thriving. Anyone know if these guys are still active?

They religiously meet regularly to this day so the club is strong, but small; most original founders are no longer members. I have visited a couple of them, and frequently meet with a handful every summer. I have to admit, they love their tubes, horns, analog, and of course, opinions run strong - pffff, unlike any other place :) Strange economy to be honest, some members have been affected and have completely disappeared, others keep spending. Unfazed by the crisis, the few brands manufactured over there are doing really well with exports. Dealers are the ones hit the hardest; yet, brave new ones pop up here and there. Like everywhere else, some folks have very deep pockets, no matter what the economy. I just get my tube fix and have fun at the gatherings. And sorry, I just can't take horns very seriously, no matter how hard they try not to sound horn-y

They have a great site - very often I still google inside, the google translator is sometimes very helpful.

I remember their marvelous systems in large rooms - the best SoundLab system I have ever seen was surely there. And where else can you find a pair of Wilson Audio XLF's driven by the unique Tim de Paravicini's EAR 833 monoblock amplifiers?

Caesar:

Thanks for posting this. Very fun . . . amusing to see myself so clearly in others.

I love that short film and rewatch it occasionally. Talk about passion. Fellow member Ack knows some of the gentlemen in the film. These guys seem to belie the media portrayal of a bankrupt nation. All seems well and good with high end audio in Greece.

I wonder what happened to some of the original members. I was always intrigued by the member who talked about the power supply being 50% of the sound, 230, 230 all the time.

Anyone knows what happened to him?

Was this the same guy who said he could listen through an earthquake without any audible changes? I'll never forget that.

Yes that's him - he's a retired airline pilot, if I remember correctly

Unfortunately he passed away two years ago...
