That was then, this is now. 20 years and numerous advancements in audio reproduction separates the VR-6 (left) in Dark Cherry veneer from its successor, the VR-55 (right) featured here in high-gloss Imperial Red.

Hello Leif S and good evening to you sir. I see you have a mint set of 20 year old speakers before you. My question is this....

Have you hooked both speakers up to a modern kit and compared? If they are close in the reproductive effort, change out the guts (read: crossover components) of the old and bring up to current standards. I know these kind of questions should never be answered/addressed on the public front but just for S and giggles? Try it.

........'cause ya' never know........

VSA is one of the few companies that does partial and full upgrades (including drivers) for their older models so Leif should have no problems.

Just don't take too much time on the net Leif, I want Big Blue!
