It wasn't just music that was great in the old days. So was TV and comedies.

So here is a thread of the greatest moments in comedy Television.

Let's start with a show that took a taboo and made it thoughtful entertainment:

Comedy television, but not exactly a sitcom though there were many recurring skits: Second City TV (SCTV) was the funniest show I've ever seen, you truly never knew what was going to happen next. The troupe: John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Martin Short, Joe Flaherty, Harold Ramis, Dave Thomas and a few others were basically given free reign to create a weekly show. The central idea was that everything was a show on the SCTV television network, run by Guy Caballero (Flaherty) and Edith Prickley (Martin). It was Monty Python-esque in the amount of talent involved and the freedom, but was a bit more structured in conception.
