I never liked subs for music at home. I can't get them to disappear.

Martin Logan CLS with Vandersteen subs.
ML Request
ML Statement E2
JM Labs Mini Utopia
Sonus Faber Cremona Monitors
MBL 101E with ML Statement E2 sub towers.
The Statements and Requests are gone, the rest is still in use.

I can't believe you had a ML Statement E2 and got rid of it!

I always thought they were spectacular.

Why did you get rid of it?

Quite an amazing grouping! Curious as to how the mighty Statement E2 compared with the mighty MBL101E + Statement Sub towers. Was there a reason you no longer have the Statement E2...would have thought those are the kind one keeps for life?

Moved from a place in the US with a large listening room, to a place with a small one in Denmark. Sold them to a friend who promised i could have them back if i ever wanted, he died not long after. Great speaker system with a tendency to enlarge everything, drumkits are out of scale, performers often larger than life.
But i never heard a system with the sheer impact that these speakers have.
Mid-bass dynamiks are fantastic, and deep bass amazingly fast, In a room that can handle it. For home theater they where amazing, helicopters fly trough
the room and 18 wheelers drive right at you. My current setup does intimate settings better, and the MBL tweeter is more extended than what the panels can do, but i miss what the two columns of open baffled 16 7,5 inch drivers could do in the mid-bass !

My entrance into "high-end" was the Revel M20...two grand...likely more than I had paid for a full setup in the past.

Then Emerald Physics for a short period, followed by YG Acoustics Carmels almost five years ago.

To this day, I am amazed by the sound of the Carmels, and they just "work" within my room.

I've upgraded/replaced most of the component elements within the past few years, but the Carmels stay on, until the itch becomes too great.

Speakers I have owned. I guess they represent my spiral into audiophilia. IMHO each speaker is sonically and technical better than the previous. Although it would be interesting the hear the Eggleston in my current dedicated room.

B&W Matrix 804 -- First high end speaker
B&W matrix 801 series 3 -- nice upgrade in the bass
B&W Nautilus 802 -- Newer is better right? My wife liked the form factor a lot better :)
Eggleston Andra II -- Moving on from the B&W sound
Wilson MAXX 2 -- I liked this speaker but never fell in love with the sound
Vivid Giya G1 -- WOW! I love how this speaker plays music.

Naim SBL Active
Sonus Faber Extrema
Avantgarde Duo with 2 x 225 CTRL subs
Avantgarde Trio with 4 x 224 CTRL subs
Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage with Gravis subwoofer
Magico S1 MkII

Most of the changes in speakers coincided with changes in listening rooms
