The comments on Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony are very interesting - it is a very challenging piece, in some aspects much more exigent than the usually referred romantic orchestral pieces. Interesting that the Yvette's seem to be able to overcome the "washed-out instruments" syndrome in the climax parts, many speakers/systems fail in this aspect.

Curiously the best sound quality I ever got from the Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony was in CD format - Leibowitz / Royal Philharmonic Orchestra / 1961 / Chesky CD (ADD).
