Absolutely excited. But I hope they don't have any more political things like the teaser/trailer.

I'm super excited too. Everything Ridley Scott is involved in is cinema art visuals (3D). This guy is @ the forefront of the cinematique experience.

I did. Now I really enjoyed the film even though it had an MRQE rating of 58%

I did not see it, but I thought of asking you, more out of the blue. I've read decent things, the trailers look good, and Steve was pleased enough.
I certainly look forward to it.

The film was largely shot in New Zealand.
And in the trailer, there's a shot of a small "rover" like vehicle coming down the ramp from the ship. It's not a prop, it's real - An Audi "Quattro" prototype moon rover. Dave (EEVblog) did a segment on it:

Fresh in the Flesh ? http://movieweb.com/alien-covenant-red-band-trailer/

"Ridley Scott returns to direct from a script by John Logan. His cast includes Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby and James Franco.

Some speculate that Franco is playing husband to Katherine Waterston's character, and that the pair are actually father and mother to the franchise's iconic Ripley character played by Sigourney Weaver in the first four Alien movies. There has even been a rumor that baby Ripley will be making an appearance in the movie before this chapter in the saga comes to a close. A new teaser released last week strongly hints that Waterston is indeed pregnant."

If you are familiar with some of the casting actors; you might be wondering, like I, why Scott and company picked some "bouffons" to play some of those characters in his new horror sci-fi flick? I think because Ridley is going for the humor side of Hollywood, once more.
Ridley is a wise man; he uses his "framing" talent to great effect. ...And with subtlety. He's not your usual filmmaker. His films are never completed till years later when he decides to make alternate versions. He's like a painter who never finish his paintings till he says so. That's cool, that's different.

But yes, some actors in this/his flick are strange a little. It has to be intended. Maybe they'll get eaten by the aliens from their feet first?
So that they can look @ them, before they get to their balls and stomach and heads last? :b

I think Ridley might be into something here. Anyway, comes May some will find out, and I'm curious if 3D IMAX is part of the plan.
There's not much on that front news frontier.

Steve's ultimate nightmare version of work! Ok no more bad vibes. I really want to see if this is going to make Prometheus a little more understandable.
