It's better be :)

Yesterday, I brought my family to watch the new Tron in IMAX 3D at one of the newest theaters in town (Lincoln Square). All through the movie, we kept asking each other "Huh? What did he/she say?" When we came out, my daughter asked innocently "How come they don't speak so clearly in there? Let's go home and watch Netflix!"

When's your theater done? I'm eager to hear it, and now I know where your showroom is - right next to the foot massage place!

Thanks guys. We powered on the Wisdoms last week. Was weird to have my pants resonate with the subs!

Yesterday the JBL system above came to life. I am actually going in this afternoon to hear it :). Screen is up as is the projector with its 17 foot screen.

Nothing is tuned though so we have a lot of work left to do. But luckily, it is work that we can do rather than construction crew. A 3-month construction project which is finally coming to a close, 12 months later!

I think sometime after CES would be a good time to have you all come and see it (second half of January).

2. Meridian. I remember meeting Bob Stewart nearly 28 years ago when he was touring with his first CD player (modified Philips top loader).

amirm,

I believe the gentlemen's name is Bob Stuart.

Cool. I'll give you a very direct answer then; I don't know. I'll bet Sean does.

I have to admit that I've done very few amplifier listening tests over the years. At the National Research Council, controlled tests on amplifiers usually found that well designed amps sounded much the same until you started driving them into distortion.

Years ago I tested various commercial Class D amp solutions only to confirm that they were very sensitive to the loudspeaker load due to their high output impedance. Which amp you preferred depended ultimately on the loudspeaker you hooked up to it. In my view, that is not a good characteristic of a well designed amplifier.

I appreciate a lot your writings about Harman courses of training listeners for speaker development. I see that Harman also develops high cost, high quality electronics. Are they evaluated using similar criteria, or do they rely on different types of listening tests or may be just different weighting of each of the sound quality attributes?

BTW, can I ask you if your courses are taught / intended for surround or stereo systems evaluation?
