..yesterday while dusting my TT dustcover with a feather duster the static electricity generated lifted the tone arm off its cradle and the needle went skipping merrily along the acrylic platter scaring the crap out of me. Even with strong lighting and a magnifying glass I couldn't confirm that the needle was still attached to the cantilever (failing eyesight). I breathed a sigh of relief when an LP played normally. Lesson learned: remove a dustcover to dust if your tone arm cradle doesn't have a lock down..
