? It's my favorite YES double album.
In hi-res multichannel audio 5.1 (Blu-ray) it shines with immersive clarity and and voodoo magic envoûtement. It's a Must for Yes fans, like you, and I.

3 CDs + 1 Blu-ray Audio disc ? http://stevenwilsonhq.com/sw/headphonedust/yes-tales-from-topographic-oceans-3cdblu-ray/

? It also comes on DVD-Audio (two DVD-Audio discs and two CDs): https://www.amazon.com/Tales-Topogr...276067&sr=1-1&keywords=yes+topographic+oceans

Like you and I, I saw what you did there.:p
While I don't have this disc yet, I have never heard anything from Steve Wilson I didn't like.
I will have my Multi-Channel system set up as soon as we just closed on our new home.
Can't wait. This will be my next MC music purchase.

Short version: buy it.

Long version: Yes, Steven Wilson's remasters are faultless, and those Yes albums are no exception. He really brings out all the detail and nuances that were buried in the old mixes, all while keeping things neutral and reasonably similar to the original versions.

YES! (pun intended),...buy i!. I would also pick up his remixes (6 at present) for the 40th anniversary Jethro Tull releases. They are the best of any of the versions I have on my shelves including all the MoFi and other hard to find, expensive releases. I've heard things and in ways not heard before on his remixes that are simply stunning.

Thanks for the advice. I am getting it. Should I get the BRD or the DVD A?

It's on SACD too.

Hey, it's even on LP.
_____

The format to get is the one you like best because that's the one you use the most.
Example: How many music media streamers/servers do you have @ home?
How many players/computers do you have to play downloads?
How many Blu-ray players do you have?
How many Universal DVD/BR players that can play DVD-Audio do you have?
How many SACD/CD players do you have?
How many turntables do you have?

What is your preferred music machine and music medium?
Only you can answer those for your eyes only.

If someone would ask me the same questions I just asked you; it's very easy for me...I have seven Blu-ray players and seven SACD players and seven DVD-Audio players. To me, those are all hi-res audio players.
* I went with ? the hi-res Blu-ray Audio version (5.1 multichannel...uncompressed LPCM, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio, 192/24 Stereo).

Audio:
Music: LPCM 2.0 (96kHz, 24-bit)
Music: LPCM 5.1 (96kHz, 24-bit)
Music: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (96kHz, 24-bit)
Music: LPCM 2.0 (192kHz, 24-bit)

_____

Here @ WBF...I think a bunch of audiophiles would go with the LP version. ...Stereo (analog).

Go with the Best; your preferred music medium. If you like MQA...then MQA it is. Are they in multichannel?
I just went with Blu; I'm a Blu man, I'm a Multichannel man, I'm a Stereo man, I'm a SACD man, I'm a DVD-Audio man, I'm a Classical man, I'm a Jazz man, I'm a tattoo man, I'm a Blues man, I'm your man, I'm a man.

I saw Steve Wilson mixed the MQA version on Tidal. Is it worth the extra $$$ to buy the BRD?

Just because you mentioned Tidal and MQA.

First, this is my personal opinion regarding Tidal: I'm not in love with the business owner, I'm not in love with the group of people controlling their bank accounts, I don't like their strategy/style/philosophy/business plan/overall ideology. I simply don't have my heart directed towards it/him/them.

Now regarding MQA; I asked you before if they have that album in hi-res discrete 5.1 multichannel...if not buy the Blu-ray Audio because it does.
If Stereo is your mojo, you can also get it on LPs (analog).

Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans ? It's a perfect album for multichannel; the experience is much more elevated than my stereo LPs and CDs.
The remastering is adroitly conjugated with an immersive natural.
It's the album I'm familiar the most with in my lifetime here on Earth. It means nothing else than just that.
I'm a classical music lover, I'm also a jazz music lover. Classical music, opera, moves me the most...right there where it counts...in the soul.

And Yes - TFTO, had/has a tremendous impact in my life. This new 5.1-channel version is thee best. ...Or on Blu-ray Audio or on DVD-Audio, doesn't matter.
