Saw Jackie earlier today. Save for a few flashbacks the movie takes place in the few days surrounding Kennedy's assassination. You get a different perspective of Jackie and what she was doing and thinking. At times it was a bit slow but the critics will love Natalie Portman's portrayal of the First Lady. Pretty decent movie.
Looking forward to seeing how Natalie Portman has continued to mature as an actress. She was my daughter and son-in-law's school mate in college, even was in one class with my son-in-law. Of course, she was already famous, having been in the first Star Wars movie even before college. She used her birth name, Natalie Herschlag at school, but everyone knew who she was. In some ways her early career paralleled Jodie Foster. Both starred in very adult movies when they were very young - Foster in Taxi Driver and Portman in The Assassin. And both went to Ivy League Colleges. Of course, both went on to win Oscars and also become directors and producers.
