Low Compliance Cartridges for the Sperling TA1 Tonearm

    Merry Christmas all!

I am about to be the happy owner of a Sperling TA-1 Tonearm but have a bit of a problem - I can't seem to find a low compliance cart to suit such a high mass tonearm - would anyone care to offer an opinion? My favourite so far is the Murasakino Sumile.

Check out: Miyajima Labs: Due to the construction of the dampeners and absence of a tension wire, they work very well in heavy Tonearms.
Analog: Acoustic Solid Wood MPX Reference Microcontroller, SME M2-12, Ortofon Cadenza Bronze
Digital: Rega Apollo, Chord 2 Qute
Amp: Roksan Caspian M2 + DX-2 Ref Phono

Cables: all MIT Magnum M3, M1 Phono, Magnum AC1

BTW: I have the Sperling NRM-1 Motor on my Acoustic Solid. If the Tonearm is as well made as the Motor you are in for a treat!

Hi - it turns out that it is extremely well made, I will post some photos of the tonearm and packaging when I have a moment. I did end up going for the Murasakino Sumile - what a spectacular cartridge.

Hi. Congrats. I have not heard of or heard the cartridge you are using but it looks very interesting. You did not mention the turntable you are using. How about some pictures?

I am going to be using a Fuuga cartridge on my Sperling TA-1 tonearm and L3 turntable. My understanding is that the Fuuga is also a low compliance cartridge with a low internal impedance. I've heard the combination at AudioArts NYC a few times and really like it. Waiting on everything to arrive and be installed here.
