conrad johnson with Vallhalla 2

Does any member have experience of using Nordost Valhalla 2 cables with conrad johnson electronics?

Although I have used Vallhalla cables in my system in the past, they were balanced versions, so I never had significant experience with cj electronics with them. But once I listened to a memorable demo using a mix of Valhalla and Kimber in a DCS / conrad johnson system.

The closest i come is that i tried a Transparent Ref Digital Cable from my oppo digital out to the Zanden DAC...and was shocked to find myself falling asleep listening to music...i took it back almost immediately. i got a Nordost Valhalla digital cable and it was stunningly good...i felt it made my system sound more like it always had. With the full Zanden set, i really only use the Valhalla coming out of the Oppo into the Zanden for movies.

And that's not Valhalla direct to CJ...but that's the closest i have which is that it was one link away from the CJ in the audio chain.

Sorry I can not understand the current system - what are the digital cables in the full digital system? You listen to movies in stereo using the Zanden DAC and a Valhalla?

Hi Micro,

Originally, I had only a Zanden DAC (not transport)...and used an Oppo transport. We could therefore play music or watch videos with the digital out of the Oppo ALWAYS sending the digital audio to the Zanden DAC. There is where we use the Valhalla Digital Cable. It was much better than the Transparent Ref Digital Cable. About 3-4 years ago.

Today, we have a full Zanden Transport/DAC which has its own proprietary i2s cable. The Oppo there is used only for movies...but we will still send movie sound via the digital out and Valhalla digital cable via to the Zanden DAC.

Hope that is clearer...meanwhile, it still is not Valhalla straight to CJ. Simply that Valhalla is in the audio chain which (as you may recall) has always had CJ in it for the last 16 years.

Not Valhalla 2.

I use Valhalla pc on my cj GAT ascwell as 6m Tyr between pre and power.
Valhalla ic's between GAT and two phono stages.

I like them.
