Has anyone heard the JBL LSR 708i? I’m after a replacement for some DIY horns and considering these as a derivative of the JBL M2 (which is too expensive for my budget). Other alternatives looks to be the JBL 4429 or, on discount, 4365 but am leaning towards the 708i. The speakers would sit in a ~4000 cubic foot room supported by a fleet of sub-woofers. My priorities are to ensure that the replacement speakers have great dynamics and mid-bass, and interact with a shared room in a well-sorted manner (as I'm unable to fully treat the sidewalls.)

Hey Zydeco, I have not auditioned the 708's but there are some insane holiday deals for JBL on Amazon. These towers are normally $1500 each from their high end Synthesis line up, It won European Speaker of the Year in 2008-2009::

As for the M2 trickle down tech the Studio 2 series uses it and I love my JBL 230's.
