I thought it would be fun to share our holiday wish lists and acquisitions in a completely materialistic thread. I have a selfish motive, seeing that I can't keep quiet about this year!

Although I was assembling the usual list of recordings from which my wife could choose, she elected to get me NONE of them this year.....

Instead, she ordered me a new Krell S-1200 preamp/processor and an Emotiva XPA-3 amplifier for my surrounds! These pieces will replace my old Denon AVR4806 receiver that was serving those functions. The 1200 will complete the pairing with my Krell EVO 403 amplifier and jump start the new year with a huge increase in sound quality here!

Very excited, and I hope others here are fortunate enough to have some of their personal dreams come true this season as well!

I have just returned from the mall with kids, and really liked a table clock replica of an antique spiral time box, far from been exact but a very nice piece of furniture...

Regarding audio... Well, a Passive Contro, for my WLM Lyras will do.

I am doing my own purchasing since no one else in the family or friends can afford to. I have my first order of Acoustic Room treatments (14 traps and Acoustic Panels) scheduled to arrive from GIK Acoustics on Tuesday. On Wednesday I plan to order 8 of GIK acoustics diffusers for the room. One of the 35 pound wood diffusers is to go on the rear of the door and we will need to replace the door to the room due to the weight. I hope that all of the Acoustic room treatments are installed and work is completed by Christmas. I will be reporting about this and posting photos in my system thread as the pieces are received and installed.

You'll like the Orpheus. Sounded real nice at CES a couple of years in the Spiral Groove. Considered getting one for review but didn't have a phono stage to deal with the new models low output. Now I do :)

I'm very excited Myles :) I really liked the tone and sense of stage depth of my Nightingale but it wasn't competitive with my mainstay carts (XV-1t direct, MY Sonic Ultra Eminent w/ 302 SUT, Koetsu Jade w/ Koetsu SUT) The Orpheus has the refinement the Nightingale lacked. What I want to see is if it has the spread and scale lacking in its OEM little brother. This should be good!

Agree on the refinement. Also thought it had amazing low level resolution and transparency with the Silicon Arts gear.

Mine are much more plebian... I had planned to get an Emotiva UPA-2 to finish off my amp parade (I had planned a pre/pro but other considerations put that on hold). Finding the power a little low and that it did not have balanced inputs I decided to table it. However, my wife blessed an XPA-5 instead, allowing me to move the XPA-3 upstairs where it will power my old Infinity system much better than the AVR up there, and now all my main speakers will be amp'd. Cool! - Don
