I recently dug into this a little bit , seems regular history doesnt mention it at all , besides ropes copper chissels and dolorite pounders and manpower .
intersting vids about them , to me it still seems a complete mysterie how they accomplised for example the great pyramids , the serapeum sakkara , baalbek lebanon , unfinished obelisk aswan egypt .
If one looks good there are marks to be foundwhich look like machining , remember granite basalt and dolorite are one of the hardest stones around .
Enjoy .

Extremely interesting subject.

On a similar line but smaller scale, look for explanations about Leedskalnin's 'Coral Castle'.

Almost two weeks ago I've read couple articles:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/...two-mysterious-chambers-in-the-great-pyramid/
http://www.natureworldnews.com/arti...ind-2-unknown-chambers-great-pyramid-giza.htm
_____

Today we are building skyscrapers that would be a kilometer, and even a mile tall in just few years from now:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeddah_Tower
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/03/how-tall-can-tall-skyscrapers-be.html
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/news/Tokyos-mile-high-skyscraper-to-be-the-tallest-in-the-world/ ? By the year 2045.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...a-city-twice-height-Dubai-s-Burj-Khalifa.html
______

This is being build now ? and it's climbing...to eventually reach one kilometer up:

One mile high ? by year 2045:

Two miles high ? (proposed project):

______

So, if we can build higher than the sky, if we can live on other planets, years ago before us they could move gigantic stones.

The Puzzle of Baalbek

Here is a fascinating question. Why did the builders of the Trilithon struggle with 800-ton weights when it would have been far easier to split the giant monoliths into smaller blocks? Why not use 4 x 200-ton stones rather than a cumbersome 800-tonner?

According to my engineer-friends, it was very risky to use 800-ton blocks in the way seen at Baalbek. This is because any vertical defects running lengthwise through the stone might have led to a critical structural weakness. In contrast, a similar fault in a smaller block would not have affected the overall construction. Either the builder was incompetent and just plain lucky or he was competent and supremely confident in his materials.

Whichever way we look at it, however, it makes no sense to imagine tens of thousands of men struggling to move and erect three of these monstrous 800-ton stones.

So the question is "why did they not split the stones?".

One possible answer to this puzzle is that the builders moved the stones in huge sizes simply because they could. In other words, it might have been the case that, with a high technology available, the builders found it more expeditious to cut and move one large stone rather than several smaller ones. This presupposes the kind of high-tech 'lost civilisation' which has been mooted by writers such as Bauval, Hancock and West, or the more plausible 'lost race' as advocated by myself in 'The Phoenix Solution' (1998).

I'm going to spend few years on this subject of moving and lifting 1,000-2,000 tons stones, I'm going to subscribe to Quora and see if harnessing the wind was a possibility.
It sure is fascinating; 'megastructures' erections from the ancient ages and tomorrow...

One of my friends asked me once; "If you could go back in time, which era would you pick and what change would you make?
I said; "During the great Egyptian pyramids era, and I wouldn't change a thing."

Look @ us today; we are still discovering and learning from them. What more do you want from a legacy? We have so much more to discover...like from one billion years ago...
...The Large Hadron Collider... http://home.cern/

If they can move them (huge 1,000+ tons rocks), erect them, build them back then, imagine one billion years from now! ...Manpower and ingenuity.

The easy answer is unlimited slave labor and lots of time. Most people look at these structure with a modern lens and never realize what unlimited labor at little cost and no time deadlines can accomplish.

Also we now know that they poured a lot of water in front of the big stones they used for pyramids. It was even in the detailed hieroglyphics, just no one made the connection until very recently. So indeed it was possible, even as crazy as it seems. What might be more interesting that most people don't know is that the great pyramids where shiny in their day, covered in polished limestone but have lost all of their covering since.

I don't have an explanation for some of the other things. Although mirrors could go a long way for lighting a place. Also using light to great lines could also allow a lot of precision. It may be intentional to have very little light in a project except what you want to introduce in order to get the correct shapes.

Perhaps the biggest mysteries are why did the Sphinx change heads (and why did someone pry the nose off?), what is the cavity below it (and where does it go), and what the hell is in the "queens" tomb in the pyramid? Egypt guards that secret about the "queens" chamber very, very tightly. The whole pyramid situation is a bit odd given that it looks like Khufu and Khafre essentially scribbled some **** all over and called it their own after some wimpy statues of them where placed around the pyramids. It makes one wonder if the pyramids inside where lined with the same polished limestone as the outside and inscribed but Khufu and Khafre removed it - maybe.

I wonder, how many Egyptian labor slaves are buried under and inside the walls of the Great pyramids?
The great wall of China...that too took many people to build, and "few" of them are resting there.

Today some of the tallest skyscrapers and largest palaces are built by slaves still. They live in small quarters near the construction sites, few of them per each room, and they get paid (underpaid) minimum wages, hired by the kings of the desert. Nothing has changed. Man will do that to survive, for some food every day, obey in masses to the kings of kings.

Yes, manpower, many many slaves, hard labor for a lifetime, for generations, using bare hands, sand, water, and building, moving mountains.

Trump, is he going to be buried inside a secret gold chamber in one of his Trump's tower? ...And his Queen(s) too? :b

The highest highness are as high as they treat their servitors/slaves. Slaves are to be treated as equal to their masters.
A slave can aspire to the highest of the highest skies, above the stars.
A true master can aspire to be among the worker slaves, the last honor level before real gratification. :b

During the Egyptians and the Romans and the Greek gods and goddess of Olympus, Beverly Hills and Hollywood boulevard with its stars weren't even a particle of dust.
Twenty blockbuster movies are enough money generators to build the biggest and tallest world's $20-billion structure.
Amazing the power of films, and how the money can be used to build giant turbines and space telescopes.

What would be a feat is to pull another planet closer to Earth and build a bridge between.

Have you watched "The Motorcycle Diaries"?

There is a very telling scene in the movie (it's probably in the actual travelogue as well) where Guevara is looking such ancient ruins, and then there's a kid whom he talks to about how the conquerors came and instead they then had these new walls with puny bricks.

My memory about the actual scene must be a bit foggy, but more important is the message therein.

In Puma Punku, the stones appear to be 'machined' to a very high level of precision, including holes as well as recessed areas where probably some metal hinges or other metal apparatus were used to hold the stones in place. The scale of these structures is astounding.

I've always been drawn to these mysteries for decades now, and I had bought some of those Reader's Digest produced hardbound books on the topic. I've been fortunate to have climbed up the Great Wall of China in the 80s, and the view across the infinite land where the wall still stretch out till the eyes can see it is truly an awesome sight. There was talk then that after climbing up one tower, walking up to the next tower will take the starch our of the climber. I was there, and I agree, and I was only 23 then. :D I also saw a 'mummy' in Xi-an (where the Terra Cotta warriors are also located) and I can't forget what an American tourist said: Golly, the one who did this must have been an alien. I now agree wholeheartedly. :D

I have watched this documentary - seems very scientific vs speculative. Bottom line - they propose the pyramids were power plants. No aliens, just an advanced civilization we have no evidence of, except for that right in front of our eyes.

Il be visiting london later this month to see the egyptian collection in the british museum and vist the petrie museum , i hope to post some nice pics of megalithic machined stone work .
In the petrie museum there are granite cores found in egypt , drilled out with a hollow drill and a feed rate nobody can explain or duplicate in this modern time with diamond tipped drills.
I believe some were also tapered top to bottom ???

Please guys, there is no issue how these stones were cut and these structures built. Hint, there were no aliens involved. These ancient civilizations had brilliant people and master craftsmen and tons of manpower. The tools used to cut the blocks for the pyramids were left behind. I was able to see them on a trip to Giza a few years ago. The great stone masons in Italy and Greece knew how to do it also. Using wedges and hammers they were able to split large stones with an incredible degree of accuracy. Copper saws are very effective cutting limestone especially with sand thrown into the cutting process.

Paid a visit nice site beautifull hilly surroundings .
On the pic you can see a stone standing up with a knob , the stone that was placed horizontally on top had a hole /gap in that spot so it would strengthen the construction , so they probably placed the two erected stones with knobs measure the distance an cut a fitting horizontal stone .
Further a reconstruction how it used to be

To quote Giorgio Tsoukalos, "I'm not saying it was the aliens, but it was the aliens."

On the other hand, I find it unreasonable but not impossible that any species with the ability and technology to come here would expend so much energy on such a galactically insignificant planet and species.
