For the ULTRA line; which represents our state-of-the-art development in loudspeaker design, we wanted a unique badge to distinguish it. Our very talented graphics artist re imagined the Von Schweikert family crest. Once completed, this project was presented as a surprise to my father and our company founder Albert Von Schweikert. He was very moved by this and enthusiastically approved it for use on our ULTRA Loudspeakers.

No expense was spared to achieve the highest quality sound possible, that includes these platinum binding posts.

As with our other “Aktive” loudspeakers, we partnered with Channel Island Audio to design and produce the amplification on the ULTRA Line. For the ULTRA 11, this massively thick rear panel was created by CIA to not only house the two 1,000 watt class D subwoofer amplifiers, but also the Ambient Tweeter Array as well as the system controls.

In order to achieve the highest performance possible, the ULTRA Line are designed with adjustability that facilitates adaption to a wide range of room requirements while still maintaining flat frequency response. As such, we’ve incorporated this extensive control suite.

I've always thought Dusty did great work with Hypex sets. I'm very much looking forward to the replacement of my 11's plate amps (IcePower) with CIA's new Hypex units. Rodney says the difference was not subtle. :) See you soon Leif!

Also, while I don't believe its ever really been mentioned, I laud Albert's decision to not skimp and use autoformers (in the case of VRs and Ultras, Fostex) instead of resistors for attenuation. In general I've always thought autoformers sound better.
