I just that Arnold Palmer has passed away at 87. RIP Arnie.

He did more to take gold out of the Country Club and get the masses involved than anyone.

Arnold Palmer was a class act, always a gentleman.

Now, back in the days when he was dueling with Jack Nicklaus, I rooted for Jack.

That was because Nicklaus was from my home town so he was a local favorite in Columbus.

Turns out they were both great champions and, truth be told, Palmer was the bigger star and better loved.

R.I.P. Arnold Palmer. I was a big fan back then, and my Dad too (RIP) and my older brother too.
I spent part of my youth (summer school vacations, about 7-8 years) on a golf course, a magnificent one, in part of Quebec.

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Palmer at one of Senior Skins Games at the Mauna Lani Resort.

He not only built the foundation for today's PGA Tour, but helped renew the world's interest in the British Open Championship.

I hope they do something very special for him at the Ryder Club next week.
