Ironic.. he's not Bond, he's an action guy. And even worse he doesn't like James Bond. He's a disgrace to the name, really, even though the movies are ok.

I know, his real name is Daniel Craig...double O7. Special agent @ the service of her majesty. He likes Charlie Chaplin's movies.
He's no disgrace, he's a great movie actor. He has charisma and other attributes loved by women, and men.
His Bond movies? He's the Best! :b ...Just look @ what everyone is saying, in particular the women and the movie studios who produce James Bond.
$150 million for two flicks is like the salary of twenty small cities for thousand years! :D

What, you don't like him, something about him not rocking your boat gently?

He has literally said he doesn't like James Bond, that he's a misogynist. Unforgivable in my opinion.

Plus he's very boring.

He is a good action actor. IMO one of his earlier films directed by Spielberg was one of his best..........Munich (2005) in which he starred with Eric Bana

I liked some of Munich but thought he Spielberg couldn't finish it off properly. My favorite Craig movie was Defiance, where a couple of Jewish bros rescued around 1200 Jews during WWII

I think he is a good actor, but Bond movies bore me, and I was kind of glad he was getting out, but now this.

Truth be told, there was only one James Bond IMO and that was Sean Connery. I do like how Craig brought back action and made Bond into a stone faced killer

I liked the Timothy Dalton Bond's. He was the first to bring an edge to the character where the others had been tongue-in-cheek action movies. Craig took it a bit further.

Just saw a documentary about the behind the scenes intrigue in the filming of the series, done in 2012, shortly after Daniel Craig took over. The partnership and breakup of Harry Saltzman and Cubby Broccoli, and the conflicts with Sean Connery. Most interesting were long interviews with Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, and a particularly fascinating interview with George Lazenby (who, by the way, was not an actor). Harry Saltzman's two children and Cubby Broccoli's daughter Barbara (who has taken over as producer of the series) are interviewed as well as many participants behind the scenes. It is called Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of James Bond (2012).

It was on ITV in London last night.

I was just wondering: You guys did read the very short article from the link I provided in the first post...yes I'm sure of that.
$150 million for an actor's salary for only two films...is a huge pile of cash.
I have never heard of that much money offered to an actor or an actress for only two flicks. This has to be a record in the film industry.
And on top of that Mr. Daniel Craig (Sir Craig) doesn't want to play Bond anymore! To me he is a genius businessman, and a great action movie actor.
Is he worth that much money? Of course not, but for Sony/Columbia movie studio's executives, yes he is...and more.

We are in 2016 and we live in an entertainment business world, with sports and films and music. ...TV shows too.
We all have our preferred sport(s), movies and music. ...And TV channels...like Netflix.

But in the movie entertainment business, it's not like in sports. The best athletes get paid per season, and can get contracts of five years for example, with say a $100 million deal.
But two flicks with the astronomic sum of $150 million for an actor; that, is just sky high! It goes beyond the stars of the universe. :b

We also have our own preferred 007 actor since the early 60s with Sean Connery's first Bond flick (1962). I have my own preferred Bond flick(s) too, and my own preferred Bond actor(s) as well.
Daniel Craig, I've seen many of the films he's in; I can talk extensively about it...like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Layer Cake (2004), Road to Perdition (2002), Munich (2005), his four previous Bond movies, and few others.
I should have put one hundred and fifty million dollars for two Bond flicks offered to Daniel Craig in my thread's title...maybe? Nah, "My name's Bond, James Bond" is perfect. :b

I'm in the Sean Connery boat, but really enjoyed the George Lazenby film as well. They're both the epitome of what Daniel Craig talks trash about.

Maybe they have a specific reason to feature Daniel Craig? I'd still tell him to take a hike.

Lol, I love Sean Connery too. But Sean wasn't offered $150 million to star in the next two Bond films. :b
Daniel Craig is our man right now, even if some of us we don't particularly like him as 007.
I tell you what; methinks that it's going to be real tough to fill his shoes...I strongly believe that he has many more Bond movies in him...it's just too bad that he's not interested, which to me makes him an even better Bond with a stronger attitude as a world's spy class actor.

Let me put is this way; some of the best actors to play some of the best roles were not in love with their characters...Daniel seems to fit that bill.
He looks great with women, in a tux, with fancy cars, and he performs many of his own stunts...he's physically fit.

C'mon Sir Craig; ask for $200 million and do the next two 007 agent flicks. ...Bond, name's Bond. :b

You forgot to mention he is also married to Rachel Weisz.

James Blond.

Casino Royale was excellent although I was skeptical about Craig.

Quantum of Solace was less good- should probably have been folded into either CR or the next one.

The beginning of Skyfall was very good but then the last segment was simplistic and cheesy.

SPECTRE should have been excellent. Instead, it was unbelievably cheesy.

Big salaries aren't new in modern times in Hollywood and this is probably the biggest franchise ever, which others chase (Mission: Impossible, Bourne) but never equal.

Besides, the package offered is big because he specifically stated a few times he would never repeat the experience, so that's why the money is even bigger.

We are to be grateful of how these movies turn out because at one point with Brosnan, they became very gadget-oriented.

Rachel Weisz was excellent in Constant Gardener and Enemy at the Gates - Jude Law, Ed Harris, and her, all brilliant in that movie.

I think you meant $27 million for Leo.

Right now, Daniel Craig, if he takes that $150 million deal for two films he'll surpass The Rock.
{I made sure yesterday of who get paid the highest in Hollywood; so it was easy today to clarify it.}

I saw $77M in one source, maybe it's wrong but same order of figure, so it's still around the same as the biggest paid actor for 2 movies, so nothing new: he may be getting a slightly better deal because he was good and specifically announced he didn't want to do another one, so they have to put a bigger amount in order to get him.

There's not much sense in comparing to the amount Connery was getting back in the day.
