Hello all,

if you have the wherewithal to help, please consider making a donation to Friends of the Animals Foundation (Seattle, WA). This is the organization I foster for. They've had some high expenses with vet bills this year - a couple cats which needed an eye removed, a kitten which needed a leg amputated, etc. Their finances are so tight that they had to hand over six healthy kittens to Seattle Animal Control after the rescue, bath, flea treatment - as they could not afford the vetting, shots, spay/neuter that they do before adoption. Which meant they did not even recover the cost of the flea medications for the six through their adoption fees (any dog/cat owner knows how expensive Advantage/Frontline is). They also just got in a trio of kittens with ringworm - which no shelter will take because they don't have the personnel to handle that, the cost of the medication is expensive and it's terribly infectious (I might get them after the others get adopted).

Cats and kittens get all their first shots (and 2nd if we have them that long), flea treatment, worm treatment and are spayed/neutered as well as micro-chipped before they are adopted out. The adoption fee for a kitten is the princely (not) sum of $125 which covers their care and leaves a little for future needs. So yes, Friends of the Animals Foundation runs on a shoe-string.

This is their Facebook Page - there's a donate button on the banner. You will also find a Donate Button on their website. They are a registered non-profit and will send you a receipt if you wish to take the donation off your taxes.

Also... you can select Friends of the Animals Foundation - Seattle, WA as your charity on http://smile.amazon.com as well as the Fred Meyers Community Rewards program

Thanks for reading everyone, and thanks in advance for any help. :)

Two kittens they are keeping and will go to a foster mum this week - they have adoption events this weekend, and the fees they receive will pay for the care of these two little cuties. They've also received some donations. I've made appeals through my FaceBook page as well. Thanks all.
