I recently had the privilege of listening to the new Expert 1000 Pro at Devialet's headquarters in Paris. On some Reference Recordings classics, the Expert 1000 seemed to control the Magico Q3s with ease, but regrettably, the speakers were very close to the back wall and very far apart from each other, causing a bloated low end and making it impossible to judge the spatial or timbral qualities of the Expert 1000.
The Paris store is not alone among Devialet's branded stores: the London Devialet store has KEF Blades in a room far too small for them. To find out what the Pro series amps can do (and whether there's a substantial improvement over the current Expert line), I'll have to listen to them again at a third-party dealer.
