Out of curiosity, which components did you listen to?

BTW, I briefly listened to your Classic amps not too long ago - very positive initial impressions, but have not had an extensive audition yet.

Now that I've lived with the Classic Amp for about 7-8 months...it's impressive. It's relatively low powered (when compared to my former Ayre MX-Rs), a small footprint, low heat output, etc etc.

Just sounds beautiful. Best bass I've ever had. Clarity and Transparency up and down the frequency spectrum are the best words to describe it.

I wonder what a 2nd Classic, bridged, would sound like ;-) or the HD Amps. But  on the HD amp price....

It was a pair of Classic amps driven by the HD DAC. They were bypassing the pre-amp. They are planing on ordering the new HD amps and pre when available. Speakers were the new Magico S5 Mk II's.

I've heard the Nagra DAC is very special and that Andreas Koch had something to do with its design

We did a quick comparison versus the MSB DAC V (I am not positive of which version) and in general I preferred the Nagra Unit.

The Nagra DAC as i understand it is far from inexpensive and IIRC has an MSRP of $29K

I believe you are correct. If I recall correctly it is double the price of the non-HD version.
