Replacing Audio Cord

I have a headset (Steelseries Siberia V2) and I'm trying to fix a broken audio cord. I only need to fix the audio cord, not the mic cord or the mixed cord. In that cable there are colored cables (red, green and yellow), but inside them there are only white hairs, and no copper wiring and such. I suspect that the colors themself are wires, but I don't know that for sure. Does anyone have an idea how I could fix this headset?
