Yes. Although many sites refer it was recorded with a modified Revox A77, the liner notes of the alternative LPs refer to a Studermixer and two coupled Nagra IVs.
Does it still has aluminum die cast frame? Lyrec PTR-1 did away with light I beam aluminum sheet. The same practice for Tandberg decks. They rely on thick head block and guide rollers.
"Frida"'s print motor also contributed to its slim form factor. It certainly help in portability.
My interest and hope is that more AAA reels ensue

I agree completelly, your words must be written on stone !!! Even if "technically" we are Orch House competitor in this small market when this deck come out this can give a real boost to reel to reel world !
I love Lyrec Frida and when a week ago I see the "look and feel" of the new Revox I think immediatly to Frida alluminium beam and print motor ! I own one of them and I am rebuild it from the ground up

I had 2 FRIDA, sold one and kept one
great sounding machine, even compared to the heavy Studers..(have two A80RC with full MTSL updates/mods)
do you have part no for replacement bearings for the guiderollers?
would like to change them for something quieter
have also tried replacing fan with Noctua, but didnt help much

Well, a good approach. The Studer B67 and the Revox A700 share the same basic configuration with an excellent tape transport system, with two feedback tension sensors for constant tape tension. Much superior to the A77 or B77 series transport. Perhaps they have developed new slimmer motors for the new machine - or maybe the machine is not as slim as suggested by the photo.
I have to say that @ a price of $4500 for a new machine with warranty, I think I might turn to the dark side and get one of these!
Yes, it does not seem to be a good approach either for those wanting mainly to play pre-recorded tapes ...
Micro - what is issue with butterfly heads? I know nothing of r2r machines so curious.
The butterfly heads have wider cores than the standard heads. If you play tapes recorded with standard heads in a butterfly head you get a lower signal to noise ratio, as you will be adding noise from the erased part of the tape.
