I looked for it, didn't find it, so here it is: Blues music you're listening to right now or very very recently | All Blues - ? only

Right in this now:

Raw, in your face, happy, hooks. This is the kind of voice you want to hear live, and dancing to, with the girls.
And it don't matter if you're sixteen or ninety.

In the now:

Now tell me this; is this guy's music Blues or some' else? ...Like Folk/Blues, or Pop, Rhythm&Blues, or ...?
I put him in here because for me he is "Soft Blues", Folk, Jazz, Pop, Easy Listening, Rhythm&Blues.
...A smooth Bluesman with a life's history covering all music genres. ...A Pop/Folk Bluesman.

* The bass guitar and the drums from this CD are mighty fine by the way.

I listened to this album a lot when it was first released back in 1990 (a quarter century plus ago).
I still enjoyed it (the CD). Great driving music, some of the very best driving music...along with C.C.R., the Stones, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Van Morrison and The Doors. ...Oh, and Marianne Faithfull too. Led Zeppelin? That too, riding no roof.

I saw her one night in Louisville Ky when she opened for Buddy Guy. Had never heard of her until then. At one point in her she set her mic down and sang unamplified to the theater and it was amazing, she can belt it out with authority.

The only other person I heard do that was Nancy Wilson (Heart) and she did it in an outdoor amphitheater and brought the house down, it was amazing.

That concert (Heart) was one I went to with no expectations and was blown away by the talent in that band.

Hi Mike,

Thx for the sharing above.
__________

I was just watching a bunch of youtube videos about Dubai and Abu Dhabi; abandoned luxury/exotic cars, plus the rules, the worker's conditions (the ones building their skyscrapers), how much money you need to get by, reports from people living over there, ...brief everything about how to behave @ the beach to drink permits to what not photograph to what not to wear...no showing of shoulders (women), no mini skirts, to no drugs or you could be executed, to riches of the riches, prices per night for a cheap hotel room, to stuff that most normal people living in America, UK, Ireland, etc., should be aware of before they visit, to who is controlling from top to bottom, to no street musicians and dancing, to no forests, to no doing almost anything outside, to no outdoors, to everything inside buildings and hotels, to the extravagances, to the richest oil magnates buying anything they want and having their own laws and controlling everyone else. This is the last place on Earth I want to visit. It's like a super ultra luxurious concentration camp. No ghetto blasters playing the Blues outside, anywhere...not on the streets not on the beach. With over 100 degrees @ the beach no bikinis and men need to wear a shirt. Zero tolerance for a joint, and everything you do that they don't do will get you arrested.
The water (ocean) is clean though, from what they say...and they have swimming pools. Some of their laws would be good for here in America, and some Canadian laws would be good for them over there. When you drive in Dubai no finger showing and no dispute whatsoever with other drivers. It is illegal.
The opulence and diplomatic arrogance are @ their best. The money showing with buildings and cars and gold and horses and building islands and higher skyscrapers is number one prime attitude, and secrets and hiding and covering....
And same sex unions (gay) is strictly prohibited and never use your left hand...tra-la-la are just some of their don't do or it's in jail behind bars.
...No kissing no hugging in public, no nudity. Everything has to be inside where no one can see...in total privacy. And don't talk about it.

Anyway I simply got lost in their laws and ways of life. I just don't understand why people want to live there...there are no mountains in the background, no forests, no jungles, no large trees, no wildlife, no outside life, just sand and ocean and no pleasant view from your cell.
If I want to play Blues over there I can only do inside of one of their buildings, not outside not @ the beach, in the street...how boring.

In contrast to the multi billionaires check the conditions of the construction workers...six to eight per small room, living in outside the city walls in like barricades type and earning less than a dollar per hour!

Yeah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi they take good care of people and human's rights. Jeez...poor billionaires with restricted visions and narrow minded on things that are superficial and of zero value. It's like falling in love with a gold wall and getting buried under it. And no Blues music playing when they bury you in the desert under the flying sand.

I have never had one inkling of any desire to visit there whatsoever, not even once.

I have a friend that works for an integration firm in the USA that got a gig outfitting one of the billionaire houses out there, so big it is taking years to build.
The crap that he has to go through, being treated as a servant and not being able to go anywhere without an escort for fear of winding up locked up and never heard from again.

The stories I have been told are insane,

No way in hell I would ever set foot on that soil, and that mentality needs to stay there.

Giving myself the blues writing this!

Back on topic, I know I posted this before but I saw B.B. King at The Strand in Redondo Beach on New Years Eve a few years ago and besides a fantastic show I booked it out back after the show and caught B.B. headed out to his tour bus and he invited me on the bus for a short chat, this after a 2 hour+ show.

Very gracious and hospitable man.

That was a nice find in the movie thread on Melvin. I like the organ break on "assembly line" reminds me of Bruce Katz Hammond work.
If you do not have 'A Deeper Blue' you should pick it up. As you know he backed up Ronnie for quite awhile.

Yes Ron; same here...the organ part on that Melvin video...I liked that very much.
I didn't know that he backed up Ronnie, now I do.

Melvin Taylor, Ronnie Earl, Joe Bonamassa...all very very fine blues guitar players.
