... the upper bushing / shaft area (under the pulley) often becomes noisy over advanced time, and may benefit from light lubrication, depending on advanced bushing wear, a very small dab of light grease may help quiet/eliminate noise. Also, dirt & grim often accumulate there, so be VERY certain to clean it before applying lube. If the bushing is worn beyond lubrication, the motor needs to be fixed or replaced. If it's the older Pabst motors, often found in SOTA's, they may prove very expensive and/or difficult to find.
