Hi, I just joined and hope I can get some info on my elderly Pioneer Reel to Reel tape deck......I am in need of correct sizes of the Capstan round rubber drive belt and the two Reel drive belts for Model T-6600. I do not have a manual on this machine and have ordered and received (wrong) sized belts. Would appreciate any input..........bobo246

Bobo,

Tape Recorder belts are getting extinct. I cross-checked an old PRB (Projector-Recorder Belt) catalog for the T-6600 and according to them, you need two OC10.9 and one OB14.8 belts. The "O" means "round", the "B" means .103 cross section; "C" is .139 cross section, and the number after the dot is the inside circumference.

The "wrong belts" you got were they "wrong" in diameter or circumference or both? Are the dimensions above "closer"? I know that there are a number of web companies selling turntable belts and they may be able to help you out.

There is also a "tapeheads" web forum where you may be able to get more help.

Charles, I appreciate your helping me out on this...........I ordered from EBay and received the right length but where two belts measured close to 1/8 in I was sent two at 3/16 in.....the other diameter was 1/2 what it should have been..........The info you sent me seems correct, Thanks again I will check again for an outlet, BobO
