Studer A80 VU won 't record

Hi there dear audio friends,

I have a problem with my studer a80 vu 24 track machine. Suddenly the machine won't record anymore. There are signals on the vu meters. When the line amps are armed (green light) en I push for record, de line amps jumps to record function (red light and relais are clicking in) but there is no signal recorded on all 24 channels. Never had this failure before.
Can somebody please help me out with some good advice? I would be very greatfull indeed!!

With your oscilloscope and scope probe, see if you have bias signal (240 kHz) on both the erase and record heads.

Also, in record, is old material (music) erased?

On the "control equipment PCB" see if both pins A10 and A11 toggle between +12VDC and -12VDC when switching speeds (when in record). Referenced to ground.

And I'm assuming the record problem happens at both speeds and that playback works fine.
