    The year, the vintage year is very impotent (sorry; important). ...Age.

    Anyway, here in British Columbia we have some excellent wines.
    ... I live right besides a venery (sorry; winery). ...Age.

    Argentina has some great wines too, and tres tres affordable. ...Malbec anyone?

    I like Burgundy best, especially Madame Bize-Leroy, which I have experienced only once. Fortunately, I wasn't paying!

    Also, I like Pinot Noir. Anyone want to treat me to a bottle of Romanée-Conti?

    I've still got 5 bottles of Domaine Leroy Pomard Les Vignots 1990 :-)

    I'm a boring wine drinker.
    My palate has homed in on the tempranillo wines, of which I consume copious amounts. My favorite winery is Bodegas Roda of Rioja Alta, but I have a particular fondness for the Ribera del Duero tempranillos.

    The Roda Cirsion is an excursion into bliss. I compose my meals to fit my tempranillos.
    Searching wide and far around the globe for my own most preferred distortion.

    My favorite tempranillo was 1967 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza. It was a unique wine. I never tasted another like it.

    Lately have been on an Italian wine journey and am partial to Chiantis.

    Plus the reds are heart healthy.

    HI Myles;

    Those fine chiantis have become far too expensive for my blood. Funny thing about Italian appelation controllatas, Chianti can be anything from the cheapest daily plonk peasants drink to some of the most sought after wines in the world. To an Italian in Italy a table isn't properly set without bread, olive oil, and red wine. But I don't know a single Italian American who even drinks wine. They can't explain it to me either.

    Yes I think they had to introduce some standards for Chiantis

    If you have to have five bottles lying around, it seems that those are the five!

    (I had to Google, but 1990 was THE year for Leroy.)
