Selling my beloved Jan Allaerts MC2 Finish. Serial # 40901194.

This is really a special cartridge. Betters my Lyra Atlas in some ways. Beautiful textures, timbre, very even top to bottom, deep, tuneful bass and wonderful highs. One of the very best at imaging. Has a unique way at unraveling the music and placing everything in it's own space.

The MC2 Finish has a .2mv output, my phono stage is only 60db...so I really need something with higher output for the best in dynamics.

Only have ~300 hours on this. Rated to 10,000. Very long life cartridge. New $7500 USD. Asking $5,500 (shipping and pay pal included).

I can un mount it and take more pics if you're ready to buy. My dealer also has a new one...so if you prefer that, then he'll take mine. It's in perfect shape.

Just read your OP. Do you know what technique is used to make a stylus rated for 10000 hours? It looks fantastic.

I don't know what technique. Just read this in a few places. I can say the suspension seems more "robust" than others I have used. Not sure if it's this or something with the stylus config. Here is one example "Don't get the cantilever wet. Remember the stylus is glued to the cantilever and you don't want to be wetting this joint a lot, particularly if you're hoping to have the stylus last up to or even beyond the 10,000 hours which many believe it to be capable of" quoted from http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/allaerts/finish.html
