Joel, do you know if the transparent ones can be put in front of a window such that they can be unclipped and rolled up, or do they have to be fixed? Also can wind or dirt damage them, and are they washable

As they are fixed to the shaft with springs, it's possible to remove them.
Nevertheless, the best way to keep them clean is to avoid putting your fingers on the film.
And as they are vertical panels, they hardly become a dust trap. The layers I have fixed on my celling are still very clean, despite being on a horizontal plane.
Concerning the wind, I don't think it's an issue as they are protected by the glass.
