LG announces HDR OLED displays

Unless they improve their video processing, not interested. This drive to be the thinnest makes no sense to me. I would rather have it thicker to hold the brains of the tv and to make for a cleaner wall mount. Who cares how thin it is if it is going to be wall mounted.

They said there are some small improvements in video quality. What they are will be difficult to see in show conditions but I will go and look.

Definitely curious what you think.

It appears the LG OLED technology (turn off pixels when not used) is a real improvement in VQ rather than trumpeting newer hrez technology.

I think they completely shut down the pixels that are not in use. ...And that contributes to a superior image//picture quality. ...And "invisible" blacks...almost absolute darkness.

That's always been there Bob. We are talking about some of the artifacts like how it climbs out black and vignetting under certain circumstances.

And yes the new Signature series LG OLED is crazy thin.
