I shared Amir's post with a friend and he reminded me of something. Art Noxon's tube traps virtually never change the measured frequency response is a room. BUT if you use the MATT test (developed, I think, by Art Noxon) , the benefit is clearly demonstrable (measurable and audible). So treating, both passively and actively (e.g. With something like Dirac) above the Transition frequency can be quite benefical.

A room above schroeder will editorialise ... deaden it and see what happens to your treble sparkle and air and sense of life in music and vice versa ,with a hashy sound in an overly live room..
I addressed that in the last part of my post: "And if the room is not overly live, you may not have to do anything to it from acoustics point of view."

The point is not that the room does not matter. I said that the loudspeaker is *dominant*. If you don't like the sound of the loudspeakers above a few hundred hertz, don't go chasing acoustic solutions. Your most likely problem is the loudspeaker not the need for acoustic treatments.
