I've conducted some strange audio experiments in my time, but this guy is a professional.

Supposedly he's a musician and turntables are his instruments, not my kind of music but hey...

I just have to ask: Does this musician prefer DD over idler/rim/belt for its sampled speed specification, sonic characteristics or simply its superior ability to start and stop quickly?

And: Would David consider that to be a "natural" sounding system?

And further: If "black" is used to describe this sound, does it refer to a coloration or a lowering of the noise floor?

This I would say is "Fakakta"!

Pretty amusing for about 3 minutes. Not sure I could take a whole 'concert' but I guess he has an audience in the post-modern "ironic" sense....
Ever see or hear an orchestrion? You know, one of those huge steam age era machines that had all the instruments of the orchestra, triggered by mechanical means?
Sort of a precursor to the "high-end" hi-fi.
:)
