I've been w/out my beloved analog for a good three months now, awaiting Peter Lederman's stirling work on my Straingauge SG200, and have just been told it's ready for dispatch. New stylus/new cartridge body, and upgraded electronics.
I'm stoked and can't wait.
The Soundsmith Straingauge, esp w/Red Wine Audio Black Lightning batt psu remains the most underappreciated cart in the high end, the only cart I've auditioned that really manages to pull off the high wire act of neutrality, speed, w/no trade off in warmth, vibrancy, texture and bass power.
Tracks like a Bloodhound too.
