Glowforge: Next Tool I love to have!

Everytime I look at buying a laser system, the price seems exorbitant. This one though as $2000 seems pretty reasonable and exceptionally easy to use. My CNC machine took months to learn and is a pain to use. Love to see similar software for it.

Imagine all the parts you could build easily at home.

With so little time, not much :). But the original motivation was to create complex patterns in MDF such as this one that went into a customer's theater:



You can see the blank MDFs on the left, and the finished piece on the right. Once painted and lit with LED, it made the most amazing side walls to the projection screen.

Once I get more time, I plan to make furniture with it.
