Fargo’s second season will be a prequel to the first season, following Lou Solverson, who owned the diner during Season 1. The new episodes will take place in 1979—which leads to all of those fabulous leather coats and dated color schemes—back when Lou had just returned home from the Vietnam War. In the trailer, there’s talk about lost moral compasses, and as we hear the ominous voiceover, we see scenes of blood, death and violence in the small town. The story will take place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota during Season 2.
Season 2 airs on October 12.
