The first room we had completely finished in the new home. Designed and built by Apex Wine Cellars in Bellevue, WA. Total capacity of ~876 bottles. Temperature/humidity controlled all year round.

Nice Bruce. I really like the ceiling in your cellar. How was that done?

I had to study your last picture to understand the "false wall". Now I see how it works. That's pretty slick.

Very nice Bruce. I don't have a ton of room but we are including a wine cellar likely of similar size in the remodel of the lower floor media area. I'll forward the contractor info to our designer. My calculations show we could get 800-1000 bottles in the space.

2 - 3 bottles / week, 100-150 bottles / year, and you need to let many sleep for about a decade, so 1000 bottle cellar just scratching the surface (thats what I tell my lovely and talented wife.)

About 52-53F temp and 65-68% Humidity

If you store wine for several years another important aspect is short time wine temperature stability - some people state it should be less than .1 C (~.2F). And since your wine cellar is close to the studio and this is WBF non science I quote a know site on wines : "The jury is still out regarding the effect of vibrations on wine. Some purists insist that vibrations affect flavour and bouquet."

How many Hertzan tables do you own? :D

LOL....;)

I've taken care of that. The listening rooms are completely decoupled from the house. Room within a room. The wine cellar was there first. The listening room was completely built outside of it. Gotta' watch out for those airborne vibrations though!
Some of the visitors to my home are more enamored with the wine cellar than the listening rooms!

When we remodeled the music room, we chose to add this small cellar to make use of space in a hallway that the original blueprints had called out as a study space. There are three bedrooms down that wing of the house—but it was a dimly lit dead-space to us. Now its a cellar with about 850 bottle capacity and if I were to add some display-view racks just inside the glass could add a few hundred more.

Beautiful cellar @Bobvin .... my pictures kinda suck, but our Cellar is also attached to our listening room/studio... I dont want to have to go too far for that next bottle when we’re spinning vinyl, lol.
