Surprising they have not been as successful in actually affirmatively proving their existence.

To close the loop here, the Japanese involved with the Super-Kamiokande detector DID end up getting the Nobel this year, for proving that Neutrinos have mass and switch identities... http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-34443695
