I am looking for a budget (price comparable with the price of small Toys, around $1000, or less) integrated amp for using in a small room system for listening mostly classical on low to mid volumes. Any suggestions for solid states? Thank you!

Hi. I have heard amazing things about the Job Electronics...basically some kind of co-production with the legendary Goldmund guys. I think their 225 amp has received strong praise here on WBF and retails on Amazon for $1,499. Job are coming out with an integrated it appears...http://www.jobsys.com/products.htm

Disregard this at your own loss: REGA BRIO-R ; Amazing dynamic sound for the money, Perfect for your needs and it has a excellent phono stage on board as a sweetner...

Really low budget is LEPAI stuff, but sounds good, however, check the output phasing as its wrong on one channel, but for $25 you cant beat it for just an amp with tone controls. And you can run it off your car or boat battery.

If you think the Lepai can play loud enough for you in your room with 87db speakers you may want to look into the modified version:
