Tweaking Your Amp?

I did. Originally, the four really big blue ELCO caps of the power supply had one Theta bypass cap. By replacing that one Theta with four Sonicap Platinum caps proved to be the kiss of perfection.

Has anyone here successfully tweaked their amp? As and example, I know that Audio Note amps are meant to be DIY upgraded.

Besides a possible tube-roll for RCA/GE on the output tubes of my Solista, I would not touch it...

I've had some minor mods done like changing coupling caps and a few resistors but nothing extreme or drastic.

Tube rolling is a time honored way to change a system's sound. I have several pairs of 5751 Sylvania Black Plate tubes. I tried them in a Jolida 100, and that was the first time that player sounded good to my ears. At an audio party we switched out Telefunken for the Sylvanias in a Llano amp with the same great results.
