Just got them Saturday evening. The one in the middle sleeping on it's back is pointed like a Siamese and is a bonded brother to the well marked tabby in the front. The little tabby in the back is a girl and of a different family.

Here's Shirley - the mum cat that the little tabby belongs to. Another kitten that came with her did not make it. She's such a good mother though, she was letting the two brothers nurse from her.

All three kittens will be needing names. The little girl is outgoing, purry, friendly, has the longest whiskers and gives kisses. Both she and Mum really want out of the cage.

The boys are far shyer and will need lots of cuddling. Their personalities do not show yet, but no, I'm not naming them Frick and Frack.

Good on you Carolyn, sweet looking little ones. No doubt the kittens will get all the hugs they're needing.

Turns out the boys are not bonded - although that was the information passed down. Leo (short for Leonidas) the Siamese is not very nice to his brother Teddy.

Kitten pile on a warm day. Shirley is not long out of kittenhood herself.

The milk bar is still open - although not very long each time. The kitten in front (Chloe) is Shirley's. The two rather bigger/older boys aren't.

Furry four footed temporary boarders update:

Leo (renamed Sven) - neutered and adopted out to be brother to Poe - the flame point boy from last season (renamed Olaf).

Shirley - spayed and adopted.

Teddy - growing his whiskers back and learning that being petted and held isn't that bad.

Chloe - gaining weight for her spay next week and still a bundle of pure purry energy.

The vets suspect that the boys aren't related at all.

Well, the rescue has lost their adoption cage space at the pet store - the owner decided she didn't want to do it anymore. No reason given. So we foster families get to host kittens longer and cart them around to adoption events.

Chloe has been spayed, Teddy doesn't mind being petted and held now. Although he sometimes forgets and darts off, only to return when he remembers that it's all good.

Chloe has been adopted. Her future adoptive family came to visit last night. The mum & kids - 3 & 6. She will also be living with a 9 year old adult "Auntie" She did very well with the kids, letting them pet her but not hold her. As the mum kept telling them, they had to sit still and let her come to them.

A potential adopter comes to visit Teddy tonight. :) Then I will have 3 little 5 week old boys next week - who are just beginning to eat on their own. If the weather does not get better, I'll break out the warming pad for them.

As a dog person, I can't warm up to cats but this one I make an exception for:

:)

It is a great service you are providing Carol to find homes for them.
