Frantz-There are people who think they have heard DSD when all they have heard were PCM files converted to DSD. So, you need real DSD files and software and hardware that is going to play them back in native DSD without any kind of PCM monkey business. As far as finding PCM files and DSD files that came from the exact same source, good luck with that.
Impromptu is a superb recording. It has some of the most realistic piano I have ever heard on a recording.
These quotes got me thinking, what music examples are out there, recorded in both formats?

Here is one; tony-bert-300v1.jpg http://www.soundliaison.com/

We record in PCM, so if you want a native one to one copy of the original studio master, without any kind of conversion, choose the PCM download.
With one exception, Impromtu (Tony Overwater & Bert van den Brink), was recorded direct to PCM and direct to DSD with two seperate recorders.

01. Carmen Gomes Inc. - Thousand Shades of Blue
02. Andre Heuvelman - Oblivion
03. Tony Overwater & Bert van den Brink - Impromptu

If there is one rule that we go by here at Sound Liaison, it is trust your ears.
So when ifi approached us for a sampler to accompany the release of the new micro-iDAC2, we first sat down and gave the device a good listen.
Hearing how faithfully the iFi micro-iDAC2 reproduced our native studio masters, we could not help but feeling proud.
Proud that iFi chose to approach our little label with a request to add the ''sound track'' to the release of such a superb product.
With the micro-iDAC2 iFi is proving that it is possible to obtain state of the art quality of sound in a portable device.
We at Sound Liaison are putting a great deal of time and effort into obtaining the best possible sound.
We are especially particular when choosing and placing microphones, having realized that attention to detail at the very beginning of the recording process pays of, when having to realize the final mix.
iFi is showing the same kind of attention to detail when choosing the components and features in the micro-iDAC2, making the device the perfect companion for our downloads.
So please go ahead, download the files, place yourself in your optimum listening position and trust your ears.

If you have the ifi sampler coupon code, available on the ifi website (audio blog), the files can be downloaded free of charge.
Yes very good files. 3$ or free if one bother to find and fill in the code. http://www.soundliaison.com/

And the 2L files ;
We invite you to join us in this evaluation of future consumer delivery formats. FLAC is a lossless encoding of WAV-files derived directly from our production original used for the SACD and Pure Audio Blu-ray. All resolutions and encodings are derived from the same original DXD source files. Please send us an e-mail and share your experience on your practical experience with these file formats. Enjoy the music!

I personally do not think that using pcm multi track or tape multi track should make a difference but some people argue that every time the signal is converted, it loses something.

The latest recording from the Sound Liaison label with Carmen Gomes; ''Little Blue'' it says ';
The recording was done in 96kHz-24bit PCM. The DSD tranfers were done using a dCS DAC going into the Tascam DSD-recorder.
scroll al the way down on the page, there is the technical info;http://www.soundliaison.com/studio-masters/208-carmen-gomes-inc-little-blue

great album btw, very very well recorded and the interplay between Gomes and Tettero, the guitarist, is incredible.
