The Vacuum Tube Workshop project is still moving forward. Part of the testing of the constructed triodes will require plotting a family of characteristic curves. I've set up a plotting system and have been playing with how to represent the performance of each tube in a simple graph.
Here are a few test characteristic curves from a sampling of homemade tubes. The triodes tested are all at least 20 years old. Some are glass sealed while others use epoxy for the stem to envelope seal. I'm pleased to see that the epoxy sealed tubes are still under high vacuum. This shows that a working vacuum tube could be built with a fairly simple arrange of tools and processes.
These curves are interesting to me as a diagnostic tool. I tend to over-enjoy doing tests and measurements when the chance arises. Hopefully these plots will be of interest to others.
