My father-in-law passed away a few years ago, and when cleaning out his belongings, we found a new, sealed B&O MMC 3 cartridge. I have no idea how long he had it before he died, but since it it unused, is it likely to still work properly? (For instance, would the magnets still be viable? I know this cartridge has been out of production for many years.) Would it be a step up from my current Shure M97XE? I'd like to upgrade my current cartridge, and this seems to be an inexpensive way to do so! Thanks.

Never mind. I decided if I'm going to upgrade that I can do better, and I just sold this cartridge on another forum!
