WONDERFUL. I wish there were more great audio (computer)phile playlists like this on TIDAL. In fact, there may be, but I just don't know about them and wish I did.

I threw together Tidal Playlists (with songs I could fine) from the original post and tried to add the descriptions as well (Tidal limits the amount of text in the description).

Very nice idea to do specific playlists for specific characteristics and very cool of you to share. To these I would add specific ones for:

1. Fast attack transients
2. Bass region definition
3. Timbral accuracy
4. Presence
5. Reverb Tails
6. Dynamics

Just a small feedback about this one where you apparently used something with extreme separation. It could be worthwhile to use a piece with several placements or intermediate separations to better gauge the resolution here.

Suggestions?

Yes, those tapes where terrible low quality, almost a scam, it was better to buy empty BASF's and copy your self:)

And there was a lot of counterfeit cassette tapes as well and the same thing is happening all over again with illegal downloads and chinese illegal CD copies.

There could be a lot of examples here, try these:

1. Roxy Music - Avalon
2. Depeche Mode - Black Celebration
3. Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses (esp. 'Behind The Wheel')

COming late to this but the links don't work for me. Tidal complains that they don't exist. Wonder if they expired?

For non tidal users, would you mind listing the songs?

Placement is perfect on this young audiophile classic as well as the near perfect natural recording of the voice, but the real test for audio equipment when listening to this recording is it's ability to separate the kickdrum from the upright bass.
The two instruments are playing the same pattern. On less than optimum equipment it might be difficult to separate the two, but with good setup you clearly hear the upright at 2.00 and the kick dead center with a nice decay that one generally do not hear on commercial recordings.
There are lots of speakers and headphones with ''extended lows'' but low with definition is a whole different ballgame.

I think Pioneer has been reading this thread:) as they are distributing publicity photos for their new MQA player playing the first album on your list.
